The Postal Service, aka the band Ben Gibbard’s in when he’s not busy releasing dull albums with Death Cab For Cutie, are unlikely to release a new album “before the end of the decade.”
In an interview, Gibbard said that the group, a collaboration with electronic musician James Tamborello (who often records under the name Dntel), “may well do something one day, but the longer we leave it, the more people expect.”
Which is a shame because, as you may have picked up, I really don’t like (the entirely over-rated) Death Cab For Cutie; whileas the Postal Service’s first (and, to date, only) album, Give Up, may be one of my favourite albums…ever. Go figure.
